Well this is long overdue. I guess we got kind of wrapped up in our new location this summer. We’ve both been slightly more work focused and busy getting our feet on the ground in LA, and have missed many opportunities to post. Hold tight friends, we do have a plan. We’ve had a couple lovely friends working on a logo for us and we’re excited to get back in the swing of posting. Starting in the next couple weeks you should be seeing more posts popping up…
Jump on it. The latest trend I’m coveting is people slinging backpacks all over these parts of Los Angeles. You better believe I’m about to hop on this train real quick. Time to put the weight back on your shoulders, and leave those perfectly manicured hands free for some activity time. Don’t worry you can blame this purchase on how “functional” this whole backpack thing is.

I would like to take a moment to share with you my most recent fashion projection. Drum roll please…… Ballet flats are returning. You heard it here folks. Ballet flats hit the main stream (circa 2006) as hard as the big yellow school bus hit Regina George, and they are about to make their comeback. I’ve been seein’ ‘em everywhere! From my #womancrush Leandra Medine at Man Repeller to Gilt I am constantly reminded of my favorite teenage kicks. Now, some of you may think this footwear never went away. That is because you, my friend, are a laggard.. and that is okay. Own it.
With these typically girly and sometimes boring shoes walking back into our lives, let’s make sure we’re making the right choices when it comes to purchasing a new pair. Take a look at a few of my favorite “ballet flats” that I wouldn’t mind sporting in the upcoming season.
From left to right: black, tasseled Kelsi Dagger found on Revolve. Snake print, gold cap toe also on Revolve here. Nude bow top loafer on Nasty Gal. & the Pierre Hardy ankle strap flats here.
For those of you in the Midwest – I challenge you to turn your Sperry’s into Ballet Flats…. boat shoes are so 2010….
Have a good week mis amigos! -Sarah
Can’t. get. enough. House of HOLLAND ! Really. Maybe it’s because I’m writing up pieces, steaming, daydreaming about, or hanging the magnificent garments every couple hours. Either way, whenever someone would like to style me in HOH, I won’t be upset (LOL). But really…. the colors, the TIE-DYEs, the cuts, the lengths, and the uncensored-ness(?) of it all makes me cheery.. I’m pretty sure he (Henry) makes it with me in mind. ACTUALLY, he “…designs it with a London girls’ aesthetic in mind…” Well, when you think about it… I DID live in the lovely city for about eight months.. that makes me a London girl right?
& you’ve got to get a load of his Resort 2014 Collection….
I’m sitting here in harem pants…. Thinking about harem pants…. Realizing I have tweeted about harem pants (many times)…. And have become conscious of the fact that I have never posted about harem pants! *GASP… Now I know what you’re thinking….
Your thoughts: “say harem pants again”
Me: Harem pants
Anywho, I’m here today to talk about these floppy bottoms and my extreme love for them. I bought my first pair of harem pants whilst on a miniature Eurotrip during early 2012. Off the beaten path in Barcelona, Spain I came across a small Spanish boutique, of which the name slips my memory after all this time. As I browsed through their unique and very European pieces I found myself eying a stylish pair of extremely baggy, drawstring taupe bottoms that happened to be lined with silk. Five minutes later, they were mine. THE END. ….
Just kidding. So, I bought those harem pants and loved them in a way that I have never loved pants before. You best believe I wore them out that night. The friends and I decided to embark on a pub crawl. By the first pub we were boppin’ and flailin’ to the song Ai Se Eu Te Pego by Michel Telo – (see here) with some local Spanish high school students *see picture below. We ever so fortunately came across a group of Danish fellas celebrating a birthday. Ditched those high school girls like it was their bed time(because it was) and made our way to a big girl party. Have you ever met a Danish man before? Add that to your bucket list. They’re a great time. Enjoyed the Spanish nightlife immensely, and that is why I call them my lucky pants.
In other news, I would like to open your eyes to the world of my favorite pantaloons. Here a just a few of my top picks at the moment.
ThEE pants ^
And that my friends, is a wrap.
So I know it’s a little late to do a 4th of July post but I thought ‘what the heck?’ I love America every day! I wanted to give y’all a taste of what I packed for my long red white & blue weekend. I took the time to photograph it so i might as well put it up, late or not. Plus, maybe you can get some ideas for next year.. or any day you want to represent the best country there ever was!

If any Monday delivers a heftier case of the Mondaze, more-so than all of its Monday brothers, it is undenieably…. the Monday after a LOooOng (fun filled) holiday weekend – specifically el cuatro de JULY! Fun filled it was and adventurous too. As I explore this new land more and more I find myself becoming the ULTIMATE tour guide.
On numerous internet-scavenging occasions I have been lead to articles which speak of movies in a graveyard, more specifically the Hollywood Forever Cemetery -the resting place of many famous Hollywood actors and actresses and other entertainment industry persons. Every Saturday of the summer the Cinespia screens different films across a grassy open patch in the cemetery. Take a blanket, bottle of wine, and a picnic dinner and you’re all set for a good time. I attended the Roman Holiday screening starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. If you haven’t already seen it I definitely recommend.
HAPPY JULY (and Monday). Can you believe it’s July already?! Where is the summer going! FYI, I’ve been finding myself in a lot of jumpsuits lately. Spent yesterday celebrating a birthday at Malibu family wines, whilst sporting a denim romper from Anthropologie. This was my second trip to the winery in the past 3 weeks, needless to say I have enjoyed each time immensely. I would definitely recommend for a laid back Sunday trip- sun, wine, and live music. Though, depending on where you’re coming from it tends to be quite a lengthy trip. Absolutely worth it.
Cassandra & the birthday girl, Chelsie!
In preparation for America’s b-day I have been mentally reviewing my travel list. This holiday I will be celebrating it in Huntington Beach, and then I am taking a red eye to St. Louis so I can be in the Lake of the Ozarks with my family for the rest of the weekend. Over the next few days, if you are traveling and will be in many situations and weather like moi….here is some good inspiration. I am really vibing cute embroidered tanks and some fun chambray tops. This will keep it chill for beach and family outings. I am also into all of the fun backpacks and weekenders that are out now, and this is a great week to use them (a leather weekender will most likely grace the bday list). I will definitely be packing some denim shorts to dress up and down, as well as some nicer, patriotic bottoms. Flowy and simple dresses are great for the heat and can go from day to night. Don’t forget some neutral sunnies (I love Karen Walker and Oliver Peoples at the moment). This holiday capitalize on the casual atmosphere and opt for flats that can be low maintenance for the whole vacay, enjoy!

It recently struck me that my readers are probably wondering what keeps me up late at night being all insomniac-esque. Online shopping is always a good answer, and tonight my poison is Clover Canyon. I happened to click on Revolve… and it all went downhill from there, because almost the entire CC collection is on SALE.
I fell in love with this brand last year when Sophia started styling people in it and, the flame is still white-hot. The brand really encompasses the LA vibe with having one-of-a-kind, obnoxious prints that look so fluid and modern. One of my favorite errands is going into their PR and showroom in DT LA to see what is coming out next. This is a lot coming from me because their elevators are sketchy AF. Below are some of my favorite finds.

Roadside Quilt Studded Blouse//Graphic Flowers Neoprene Top//Geometric Owl Neoprene Skirt
